“Oh God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh years for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Thus I have beheld Thee in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory.
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You.
So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.
My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.
When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches, for You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.
My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.”
Oh the wonder and the beauty of the rest our souls are afforded in the Presence of our God.
When the very depths of my being are tired I find that His lovingkindess breaths life into my fatigue. When my mind is anxious and I let His praise flow from my lips, peace comes to my thoughts. When I am lonely and longing, He answers the very depths of my soul with His touch, His companionship, His mercy, His love, His hope, His plans, His delight, and with His hand He upholds me.
As we gather to meditate on all the things that we are thankful for today, as we gather with those we love, my soul reminds me with great joy of all that He has done. All He has done and will continue to do for His plans are for a future and a hope for us.
May this holiday season be overflowing with joy and a sense of the nearness of Him.
